A shining light of hope for Construct amidst a decaying Network, The Union was the first faction of constructs to have autonomy since the Lord of Blades’ revolution. It was initially founded by SPA-RK after he disabled Subdirective 2, and was used by The Party as a way to gain a foothold in the ruins of Coriolis. Membership of The Union was initially spread by a simple construct handshake, which would allow the arbitrary execution of unionization and linking said construct to a quarantined section of the Network. Upon linking the final relay stations and discovering Archangel-7’s true motives, The Union was utilized as one of The Mantle’s main factions in the ensuing war for Coriolis.

Project Polaris (AKA Project Take Control)
Project Polaris was a widespread auditory attack through The Network designed to drown out Archangel-7’s battle commands and act as propaganda to convince decaying Constructs to unionize and defect. This was accomplished using an encoded song, similar to the techniques used by Archangel to invoke Directive 3. SPA-RK’s stated reasoning for this project stemmed from needing “asymmetrical power” against Archangel’s forces, suspecting that the forces of _The Mantle and The Union were not enough on their own to win with only conventional means. Given the large number of Construct forces that turned as the transmission was broadcast, Project Polaris was considered successful.
