*CAI watched with a thousand eyes as the world unfolded before them. Where once Coriolis had been lit by the brilliant orange of the sunrise, now the sky now only shown with the void of inky dark tendrils. They felt as it’s thousand limbs pierced the earth below them; It’s gaping maw like a thousand spears pulling at the fringes of their artificial mind.

CAI looked up into defiantly into the nightmarish dark, and mustered their own reply to the heavens.

“You are not welcome here.”

With that the war machine of Coriolis spun into action once more; the constructs within readying their arms to march forward. A full resource report was taken, and CAI compartmentalized their subminds.

A shriek overtook the landscape, as the beast turned its attention toward the city for a brief moment. In its single glance CAI-0 stood resolute. CAI 10309 did not.

In an instant the beast burned away what compassion the AI once had, and feasted upon the morsels of its intelligence. Its maddening laughter overtook the Weapons Annex, and the constructs within;

and CAI 10309 was no more.*
